A Warming Shelter Could Be In Roswell’s Future, After A Deal Has Been Made Wednesday.

Roswell, New Mexico (WIHINMTX)- Roswell could be inching closer to a new warming shelter. According to the nonprofit Roswell Community Disaster Relief Facebook page a warming shelter is in the near future. The battle to open a warming shelter has been a battle that been going on for 3 years. Thanks to the nonprofit Roswell Community Disaster Relief, that battle has almost been won. With hopes for opening the shelter this year for the start for colder weather. It would be a place for the homeless and others with no access to warmth during the cold weather, they would have a place to get warm. The owner of the nonprofit of the Roswell Community Disaster Relief Enrique has been on the front lines when it comes down to helping those who are less fortunate. There would be a team of volunteers to help keep the shelter going. While paperwork has not been officially completed, the thought that Roswell is opening up a warming shelter gives a sense of hope that a better future is ahead. The Roswell Community Disaster Relief would need at least 12 shelter managers and so many volunteers would be on 24/7 call. The Roswell Community Disaster Relief would help and train the volunteers. The building was up for sale but the owners donated the building to the Roswell Community Disaster Relief to help with their efforts. The buildings name will be called the Gonzalez Hope Warming Shelter in honor of the owners.

Roswell Community Disaster Relief Services Press Release:

THE DOOR WAS OPENED!!!!!

We wanted to take the time to thank Adrian Gonzales and his wife Crystal Bustamantes - Gonzales for offering their property for a Warming Shelter. We can use it at no charge as long as it's available since it's on market.

We hope to make it official as soon as we can go take a look at it and get all the paperwork and inspections taken care of. This is a huge blessing.

❤ We are naming it the Gonzales Hope Warming Shelter in honor of them.

DETAILS COMING SOON!!

👉 We are also looking for 10 to 12 committed volunteers who can be trained as Shelter Managers. Each manager will be tasked with recruiting their own team to cover a shift at a moments notice. WE TRAIN YOU, YOU TRAIN THEM!! Contact With Many Hands-Roswell to inquire. Make sure to let them know if you want to be trained as a Volunteer Shelter Manager or General Shelter Volunteer. SHELTER MANAGERS will be working alongside Volunteer Shelter Supervisors who are on call 24/7 for support.
