Clovis, New Mexico (WIHINMTX)- Clovis Police, Curry County Sheriff's Office, & The New Mexico State Police have responded to a threat made to Cannon AFB Tuesday. Clovis Police Chief Roy Rice said that "there is not an active shooter." Reports were made of an active shooter around 5 PM Tuesday, police stated a man wanted to harm himself and gained access to the base. A shot was heard near the base hospital. The military base went into lockdown and the surrounding area was asked to shelter in place. Police Chief Roy Rice did state Police SWAT was clearing the area around the base golf courses. The search would be over by the end of the night.
