Pecos, Texas (WIHINM)- Around 2:32 PM MDT, 3:32 PM CDT an earthquake was felt in parts of NM, TX and in Mexico. According to an earthquake report, a 5.5 magnitude earthquake hit 29 miles from Pecos, TX. The shacking was felt in Las Cruces, NM, Roswell, NM, Hobbs, NM, El Paso, TX, Pecos, TX, Lubbock, TX, & Midland, TX. The shaking lasted 10-30 seconds, no damage or injuries have been reported. This is a medium sized earthquake, the meserment used for earthquakes is based on 0-10 magnitude chart, a 5.5 magnitude earthquake is classified to be on medium end of earthquakes. It is also stated that more earthquakes can occur through out today and in upcoming days, the size of earthquakes will not been know.
