Roswell police involved in police pursuit of a motorcyclist, drive in custody.

Roswell, New Mexico (WIHINM)- Roswell, NM Police were involved in a police pursuit of a motorcyclist that was driving reckless on North Main St. Tuesday night just after 9 PM. According to the City of Roswell Spokesperson Todd Wildermuth said in a statement to What Is Happening In New Mexico via email "On Tuesday, Dec. 6, just before 9 p.m., a Roswell Police Department officer on patrol saw a motorcycle traveling south on North Main Street near Mescalero Road driving recklessly (tailgate another vehicle, do multiple wheelies and cut off another vehicle). The officer attempted a traffic stop, but the motorcycle instead sped away. The officer pursued the motorcycle for a short time before the pursuit was called off. However, other officers, while not actively pursuing the motorcycle, followed it from a distance and maintained visual contact with the motorcycle as it drove through different parts of town. The officers were eventually able to identify the motorcycle driver as Elier Renova, 24, and used a vehicle intercom to call out to him to pull over. He stopped near North Union Avenue and Crescent Drive and was arrested without further incident. Renova was booked into jail on charges of aggravated fleeing a law enforcement officer and reckless driving."
