SevereWeather Threatens Eastern NM & West Texas Wednesday.

Severe Weather is Threatening Eastern NM & West TX once again. Large Hail, Frequent Lightning, Damaging Winds, Flooding, & a small Tornado can’t be ruled out. Confidence on tornados is lower then 2%, but still can’t be ruled out. Timing is from 1-7 PM. As always What Is Happening In NM will track your weather all day today. Have a plan ready just in case these storms do become severe. Always Remember F.A.S.T.


Note: Severe weather risk chart has changed for some locations this morning from last night, such as (New Mexico) Roswell, Hobbs, & Carlsbad. (Texas) Pecos. Also, Note: even though confidence on tornados is lower than 2%, we will not be ruling out any chance for tornados.

Roswell-4 - thunderstorms could movie in and bring Rain, strong winds, and small hail.


Albuquerque-2- Rain and a chance of showers.


Las Cruses-2- Rain and a chance of showers.


Clovis-5- a chance for the thunderstorms to getting severe 1-3 storms passing in the area that day hail, wind, lightning, and a small tornado can't be ruled out.


Clayton- 5- a chance for the thunderstorms to getting severe 1-3 storms passing in the area that day hail, wind, lightning, and a small tornado can't be ruled out.


Hobbs-5- a chance for the thunderstorms to getting severe 1-3 storms passing in the area that day hail, wind, lightning, and a small tornado can't be ruled out.


Carlsbad- 5- a chance for the thunderstorms to getting severe 1-3 storms passing in the area that day hail, wind, lightning, and a small tornado can't be ruled out.

Midland/ Odessa-3-a Thunderstorm is likely (hearing thunder or seeing lightning).


Pecos-5- a chance for the thunderstorms to getting severe 1-3 storms passing in the area that day hail, wind, lightning, and a small tornado can't be ruled out.


El Paso-2- Rain and a chance of showers.

or seeing lightning).


4 - thunderstorms could movie in and bring Rain, strong winds, and small hail.


5- a chance for the thunderstorms to getting severe 1-3 storms passing in the area that day hail, wind, lightning, and a small tornado can't be ruled out.


6- Hailstones grow, strong to dangerous winds sky to ground lighting, & a tornado possible.


7- large hail, dangerous winds, dangerous lightning possible and a strong tornado or 1-3 tornadoes possible.


8- Dangerous Hail, dangerous winds, dangerous lightning, and a strong to a severe tornado or 5 tornados possible.


9- damaging hail ( Golf ball to baseball size hail) dangerous lightning severe wind gust up to 50 to 65 MPH, and tornados in the area.


10- full-blown Tornado outbreak, 7+ tornados, extremely dangerous tornados, softball+ hail wind gusts as strong as 80+ MPH, extremely dangerous lightning, a massive tornado emergency.
